McIlroy leads after the first round

Rory McIleoy shot a 65 to lead after the first round.

Once again, Rory McIlroy is in first after the first round, Charl Schwartzel is in contention, and we are all wondering if McIlroy, of Northern Ireland, can finish the deal in the next three days. He certainly looked like the Rory McIlroy of the 2011 Masters pre-meltdown as he shot a 65 at Congressional, and leads Masters winner Schwartzel and Y.E. Yang by 3 shots. Defending champion and fellow Northern Ireland player Graeme McDowell shot a 1-under 70. Phil Mickelson was all over the place playing alongside McIlroy, and a shot a 3-over 74. No top-three golfer played well in the first round, as Luke Donald is 3 over, as is Martin Kaymer, and Lee Westwood is 4 over. Here is the full leaderboard.
