Barcelona wins UEFA Champions League Final 3-1

A victorious Barcelona FC defeated Manchester United and won the 2011 Champions League Trophy.

Barcelona won their 4th UEFA Champions League title, beating Wayne Rooney and Manchester United 3-1 in a convincing win thanks to Lionel Messi and Co. Pedro scored the first goal of the game, in the 27th minute of play for Barcelona, but was answered by Rooney, who scored 7 minutes later, in the 34th minute. After that, though, it was all Barcelona. Messi, regarded as the best player in the world by many, scored on a fantastic strike from just outside the box in the 54th minute, surprising goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar. The match was the last of van der Sar’s career, as he had previously announced he would retire at the end of the season. In the 69th minute, FIFA World Cup hero David Villa put away the game and ended all hopes that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side had at Wembley Stadium, chipping the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal.

I am so glad that Barcelona won – I love Spanish soccer and can’t stand Man U. I’m sure Ferguson, Rooney and Co. are going to whine like they always do.

    • I’m amazed that before the game many critics didn’t even think Barcelona was one of the elite teams. Maybe they’ll whine, although there’s nothing to whine about. FCB played clean.

This was just a ridiculous game to watch. I could not believe that Barcelona made Man U look like a bunch of hacks out there. Messi is an absolute magician and I don’t know how there’s any denying that he is the best in the world. What a great match.
