Texas A&M wins Women’s NCAA Championship

#2 seeded Texas A&M won their first NCAA Championship Tuesday night, beating fellow second-seeded Notre Dame 76-70. The game was completely the opposite of the men’s final the night before, in which Connecticut beat Butler in a ugly one, 53-41. Danielle Adams scored 30 to lead the Aggies, and overcame 23 points from Notre Dame star Skyler Diggins. Gary Blair, 65, became the oldest Women’s NCAA Champion coach. Jim Calhoun became the oldest Men’s coach at 68 years old on Monday. Tyra White scored 18 points behind Adams. Both teams upset #1 seeds-twice- to get there. Texas A&M beat Stanford in the Final Four, while Notre Dame upset UConn.
