Bailey’s injury not serious

Andrew Bailey grew into one of the best young closers in baseball in 2010.

Every Oakland Athletics fan or fantasy owner that has A’s closer Andrew Bailey can now breathe a sign of relief. After being examined by famed surgeon Dr. James Andrews, Bailey was diagnosed with a strained forearm. Originally, Oakland feared that Bailey had a serious elbow injury. Monday, Bailey hurt his arm in a Spring Training game against the Cleveland Indians in the 7th inning. Bailey, 26, went 1-3, and had 25 saves and a 1.47 earned run average. The Athletics’ first game of the 2011 season is on April 1st, at home against the Seattle Mariners.
