Greinke hurt

Zack Greinke didn't have a great 2010, and suffered more bad news when it was revealed he had a broken rib and will likely start the season on the DL.

New Milwaukee Brewers ace Zack Greinke will likely miss a portion of the first month of the upcoming MLB season. Greinke suffered a fracture in his rib playing basketball. Greinke was traded from the Kansas City Royals to the Brewers in December with the hopes of giving Milwaukee talent and a star pitcher. Greinke won the 2009 AL Cy Young award in 2009, posting a 16-8 record and a league-best 2.16 Earned Run Average (ERA). He wasn’t quite as good in 2010, was hurt by the Royals’ futility, and was 10-14 with a 4.17 ERA. He will most likely be placed on the 15-day disabled list to start his 2011 season. Previously, the loss of St. Louis Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright for likely the whole season opened the door to Milwaukee, but will start the season a bit hampered without Greinke.
