Perkins signs

Kendrick Perkins was signed to a 4-year deal Tuesday.

New Thunder center Kendrick Perkins has signed to a 4-year deal, but the amount of money he is owed is not publicly known yet. Perkins was surprisingly traded from the Boston Celtics last week just before the NBA Trade Deadline. Boston received Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, and a 2012 1st round draft pick for Perkins and backup point guard Nate Robinson. Oklahoma City receives a rebound machine, and Boston almost won consecutive NBA Championships, but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in 7 games, largely in part to a severe knee injury to Perkins that caused him to miss Game 7 and most of the 2010/2011 season thus far, only playing 12 games for Boston. He averaged 7.3 points and 8.1 rebounds and will be the starting center when he returns from another knee injury in mid-March.

What did you think of this signing/trade??? I’m a fan of it for OKC but not for Boston, unless the Celts organization knows something that we all don’t.

    • That was a really unexpected move. Perkins had just come back and was looking like his old self. I love it for OKC, but for Boston, I’m not sure why Danny Ainge made this deal. They lose their toughness at center, and Krstic is not your average tough guy, let’s just say that. Jeff Green is a very good player, but he has absolutely no spot on a stacked Celtics team, and they’ve got Garnett. Maybe Green is Garnett’s replacement or something, but still. I’m really confused. But you’re right, maybe Boston knows something hidden from us.
