Lovie Smith contract extension

Lovie Smith and the Bears lost to Mike McCarthy and the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, and was rewarded after a 11-5 season.

Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith has reached an extension with the team for another 2 years. Smith and the Bears went all the way to the NFC Championship Game, and finished the regular season 11-5, winning the NFC North division. After the Bears’ 31-17 loss in the Super Bowl 4 years ago. This upcoming season would have been his last on his old contract. Smith is now locked up until after the 2013 season. Smith has been with the Bears since 2004 and is the third-winningest coach in Bears history. He joined the team in 2004.
