Deron Williams to Nets

Explosive point guard Deron Williams is heading to the New Jersey Nets.

First it was Melo to New York. Now, as Anthony plays his first game with the Knicks, the Nets make a blockbuster deal. New Jersey acquired All-Star point guard Deron Williams from the Utah Jazz for current point guard Devin Harris, rookie Derrick Favors, 2 first round draft picks, and cash. Williams was selected third overall in the 2005 NBA Draft out of Illinois. He had played his whole career in Salt Lake City. Williams is averaging 21.3 points and 9.7 assists per game, going to this past Sunday’s All-Star Game in Los Angeles. Unlike New York, with a star duo of a small forward and a power forward, the Nets have a more contrasted pair, with a point guard, Williams, and a standout center, Brook Lopez.
