NBA All-Star Weekend schedule and predictions: Friday

This upcoming Rookie-Sophomore game might be the best event of the weekend. OK, you can laugh now.

All-Star Celebrity Game

7 PM Eastern Time, ESPN

Predictions: Did I really just write the All-Star Celebrity Game. Sorry, those first two lines were a typo. My bad. No predictions EVER for Celebrity games.

2. Rookie-Sophomore Game

9 PM Eastern Time, TNT

Predictions: Ah, this is more like it. Believe it or not, this game might be the most interesting game of the weekend. I guess you can believe that, since the All-Star Game almost never lives up to its potential. Does it even have potential? I don’t know. Anyway, I say Blake Griffin and Co. barely squeak out a win against a tough sophomore team. This should be a great game.

Well, that’s really it for Friday’s kick-off of the 2011 NBA All-Star Game from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Check back tomorrow for Saturday’s schedule and predictions.
