D-Rose scores 42 in win

Derrick Rose was at his best Thursday night, scoring a career high 42 points.

Derrick Rose scored 42 points, and the Chicago Bulls beat the best team in the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs 109-99. The 42 points were a career high for the point guard out of Memphis. Luol Deng added 19 points and Carlos Boozer chipped in 15 for Chicago, which improved to 38-16 going into the All-Star break. Rose was voted the first Bulls All-Star starter since Michael Jordan did it in 1998. Tony Parker scored 16 and Manu Ginobili was right beside him with 16 points, but it was not enough as Chicago was clearly the better team, and the fans at the United Center serenated Rose with “MVP” chants.
