Dustin Byfuglien has emerged as an All-Star this season for the Atlanta Thrashers.
Atlanta Thrashers defenseman Dustin Byfuglien was rewarded with a 5-year, $26 million contract extension. Byfuglien, who won the Stanley Cup last year with the Chicago Blackhawks, was traded in the offseason and has put up career numbers with the move back from forward to defenseman, putting up 43 points, 17 goals, tops for a defenseman, and 26 assists. Byfuglien has 6 game-winning goals for Atlanta this season, which is only one goal short of the single season record for a defenseman.

He hasn’t been doing that great during the last 2 months but I suppose it is a good idea to lock in this jack-of-all-trades.
True, but he’s really flourished with Atlanta this year and has become an All-Star. Thanks for checking out my blog.
He’ll be an amazing player to have during the playoffs, I know this from experience amassed during the Canucks’ last two 2nd round playoff exits.
True. For Chicago last year he was a killer, he’s only 1 goal away from the NHL record for most game-winning goals in a season for a defenseman, did you know that?
