Kansas goes down

Jacob Pullen took over the game for Kansas State, scoring a career high 38 points.

Kansas replaced Ohio State earlier to become the top ranked team going into Monday’s game vs. state rivals Kansas State. The #1 ranking was not theirs for long. The Wildcats stunned the top-ranked Jayhawks at home in surprisingly easy fashion, 84-68. Senior Jacob Pullen scored a career-high 38 points. Kansas beat Kansas State on January 29th 90-66. Marcus Morris had 13 points for the Jayhawks. After the game, fans in purple and gray stormed the court and caused quite a frenzy celebrating a huge win in the midst of a enormously disappointing season so far. Kansas lost its second game this season, the other to Texas on January 22nd.

Kansas never should have been #1 in the first place. Texas is a better team, the even beat the Jayhawks!. Plus I don’t see any reason why OSU should have lost the top spot. They were the lone remaining undefeated team and lost a close game on the road to a very good Wisconsin team that NEVER loses at home. Just another reason why polls are pointless. A number for a given week isn’t a true indicator of who the best team is.
