Ronaldo to retire

Ronaldo was a three time FIFA Player of the Year winner and holds the record for most goals scored in FIFA World Cup history.

Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldo has decided to retire at the age of 34. The 3-time FIFA Player of the Year was on the 2002 Brazil national team, which went on to win the FIFA World Cup in South Korea/Japan. Ronaldo had a hugely successful 18-year career. He played in 3 FIFA World Cups, the last one in 2006 in Germany. He was left off the 2010 squad in South Africa. Ronaldo has the most all-time goals scored in FIFA World Cup history, at 15. Ronaldo had played for very well-known European squads for most of his career, such as Real Madrid, rival Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and ended his career with Brazilian club Corinthians. Ronaldo hasn’t scored since last year, though, as his body has gotten the best of him, thanks in part to three bad knee injuries, the last in 2009.
