Steelers to face Packers in Super Bowl

The Steelers beat the Jets 24-19 to set up a date with the Packers in the Super Bowl.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, after an emphatic 24-19 victory at home, will be going to the Super Bowl and play the Green Bay Packers on February 6th in Dallas, Texas. The Steelers had a rough first four games of the season, as Ben Roethlisberger missed the first four games, but ended the regular season 12-4, and good for the second seed in the AFC. The Jets upset the Patriots last week 28-21, but the Steelers defense and familiarity with the situation ultimately won the game. Roethlisberger will go to Dallas in pursuit of his 3rd Super Bowl ring. The Jets’ running game was virtually nonexistent, as Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson combined for 68 yards. Roethlisberger threw for 133 yards, no touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, similar to Aaron Rodgers in the Packers’ win earlier in the day. Still, the Steelers stopped the Jets in a goal-line stand, and the overconfident Jets did not make it to the Super Bowl to the second time in franchise history.
