Angels acquire Wells

After falling short on their prime offseason targets in the free agent market, The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have acquired Vernon Wells from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for catcher Mike Napoli and outfielder Juan Rivera. This will be the first time for Wells in his career not playing for Toronto, where he has called home for 12 seasons. Wells hit .273 with 31 home runs and 88 RBIs in 2010. The Angels missed the playoffs, a rare occasion, and lost to the Texas Rangers in the American League West. Wells will most likely play center field for Los Angeles.
