The New Jersey Nets have stopped pursuing Carmelo Anthony, Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov said Wednesday. Melo had previously said he wished to play in New York, but his feelings to New Jersey were never publicly known. Anthony went to Syracuse University and preferred to be close to home, but the trade never worked out. The Detroit Pistons were involved in the deal. It is still unknown if Anthony still wishes to be traded to the Knicks. Possibly a plus for Melo was that the Nets move to Brooklyn and their new home, the Barclays Center, in 2 years. Right now, Anthony is still a Nugget, and the Nets have moved on.
