Rally for Relief at Rod Laver Arena

The day before the first Grand Slam event of the year, the Australian Open, the top ranked men’s and women’s players were all having fun. The event, titled “Rally for Relief” had two sessions, the first featuring men’s players such as Andy Murray, American Andy Roddick, and Serbian Novak Djokovic, and women Vera Zvonareva, top ranked Caroline Wozniacki, and Justine Henin. The format was a 21 point match, but the result was ultimately not important, as players traded jokes all around. The event was fundraiser for the floods in Queensland. In the second session, top seeded Rafael Nadal and second seeded Roger Federer played for the men, and Kim Clijsters and Australian Sam Stosur for the ladies. The Australian Open starts Sunday at 11 AM Australian Time, and 6:30 ET.
