Pat Shurmur was hired as the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Shurmur was the Rams’ offensive coordinator the past two seasons, turning Oklahoma standout Sam Bradford into a very good quarterback. On January 3rd, Mike Holmgren fired Eric Mangini after a second straight 5-11 season. The Rams improved by 6 games last year, going from 1-15 in 2009 to 7-9 this past season. Holmgren is hoping that Shurmur can work the same magic with former University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy that he did with Bradford. Before his stint with St. Louis, Shurmur was with the Philadelphia Eagles, turning now-Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb into a star.
