Tom Coughlin safe

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin will remain at his position after his team failed to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Coughlin was on the hot seat, as the Giants went 10-6, a respectable record, but played very inconsistently throughout the season. Giants owner John Mara announced that Coughlin would remain coach not long after the Giants’ 17-14 win over the Washington Redskins. Coughlin, 64, has had only one losing season in his Giants tenure.
