Spurs rout Lakers in Western Conference showdown

Tony Parker scored 23 points and the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday, as the Lakers have lost 3 straight. The league’s best team record-wise dominated the whole night, sitting Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, two of the best players on the team, for most of the evening. The Lakers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks by 19, the Miami Heat by 14 on Christmas Day, and now the revitalized Spurs by 15, 97-82. Kobe Bryant scored 21 points, but shot a terrible 8 for 27 for the game. Power forward Pau Gasol also had a bad night, going for a measly 9 points and 9 rebounds. The intensity was not lacking, as Bryant and the almost-always mild tempered Derek Fisher got technical fouls. The Lakers dropped to 21-10, and the Spurs surged to an NBA-best 27-4.
