Bears crush Vikings, win NFC North

The Chicago Bears beat the Minnesota Vikings 40-14 on Monday Night Football. Brett Favre was knocked out in the second quarter with a concussion, and did not return. Jay Cutler threw for 194 yards, 3 touchdowns, and only 1 interception, and Devin Hester set a NFL record for most kick return touchdowns in a career with 14, after a 64 yard punt return. Favre played well in the limited time, going 5 for 7 for 63 yards. Corey Wootton got his first career sack and knocked Favre to the ground and eventually out of the game. The game was played at TCF Bank Stadium, the home of the University of Minnesota Gophers, marking the first time in 29 years that an outdoor game had been played in Minnesota, when the Vikings played in Metropolitan Stadium, before moving into their current home, the Metrodome. The Metrodome again wasn’t ready to host the game and last week, the scheduled Sunday matchup against the New York Giants was moved to Detroit, where the Vikings lost 44-7.
