UEFA president likes idea of World Cup in Winter

UEFA president Michel Platini said he is not opposed to a 2022 FIFA World Cup in winter. The host, Qatar, has extreme heat in the summertime, and was raising concerns for players and fans. Summer heat in the small Middle Eastern country very often is above 104˚ Fahrenheit. Platini also said that nobody criticized the United States in 1994 saying that players faced extreme heat as well. Last week, FIFA announced the 2018 and 2022 winners for the World Cup, as Russia won in 2018 and Qatar won in 2022. USA and England were two favorites for the two events but lost. FIFA is starting to show change in the host countries, as an Eastern Europe and Middle Eastern nations won the Cups.
